Artist Statement / Declaración del artista
I photograph moments that interrupt my attention: surfaces, accidents of light, and ordinary scenes that briefly feel unfamiliar.
A photograph is never reality. It is a fragment shaped by choice—where to stand, what to include, and how the image is guided through editing. My work does not try to explain what is seen. It preserves the experience of noticing.
I hope the images slow the viewer down long enough for a response of their own to emerge.
Fotografío momentos que interrumpen mi atención: superficies, accidentes de luz y escenas cotidianas que, por un instante, resultan desconocidas.
Una fotografía nunca es la realidad. Es un fragmento moldeado por decisiones: dónde pararme, qué incluir y cómo orientar la imagen durante la edición. Mi trabajo no intenta explicar lo que se ve. Conserva la experiencia de prestar atención.
Espero que las imágenes hagan que quien las mira se detenga el tiempo suficiente para que surja su propia respuesta.
